[Chris is just doing some long-needed decorating when the knock comes and he doesn't think much of it when he goes to answer the door with the sleeves of his sweater pushed up and a small smile on his face. Other than being a little more reserved and sporting darker circles under his eyes, he looks ok. A sharp eye might notice the two, healed, circular burn marks on his right arm, but all the rest of what he'd shown up at the hollow with was long gone.]
There he is: food delivery and hopefully kiss delivery all in one. You are a joy to see.
[After Chris has said that he's got limited mobility, Kim certainly has his sharp eyes peeled for anything that might be amiss with his friend. Of course, he's happy to see that there aren't more obvious signs, but he does notice the burn marks quite quickly.
Reaching out, he cups Chris' cheek for just a moment. His thumb brushes along the side of his face, gentle and tender. Then he leans in for a quick kiss.]
[It’s gentle and it feels like there’s a touch more in it than might be normal, but maybe he’s only imagining it. People had been treating him with such careful care that last few days and he’d grown sensitive to noticing.
Funny how you can crave a thing and then so quickly grow wary of it.
He dismisses the thought quickly and simply leans into the kiss and touch instead. His hand comes up to cup the back of Kim’s.]
I’m sorry for the late notice and if I made it sound so dire. I just can’t leave here for a few days yet. City things.
[His empty hand takes the bag even as he keeps eyes on his friend.]
[Kim continues to cup Chris' cheek as long as there's a hand covering his, but he pulls back a bit to continue conversing.]
Not dire, but I was a bit concerned. [And with those burns, he's not sure he shouldn't still be. But he won't say that.] I'm glad to be helpful, if I can.
[Kim's tone is light, as if this discussion is something like a shared joke. But he is thinking about Chris' words, his assertion that Kim might be especially suited to remind him of sanity.
It's....interesting.
He leans in for one more kiss and then steps back and away a bit so that Chris will be able to close the door.]
