At least the answer is less dire than Kim had originally feared and his concern does mostly smooth away though it doesn't die completely. There's still the faintest furrow when he speaks again.

"I'm sorry to hear about your family. That must have been....well, I won't assume you had an unhappy childhood - it sounds as if you were well-cared for - but I can't imagine growing up with the knowledge that your life was in danger was easy."

He still doesn't bring up the other bit. Not because he's avoiding it, but because it just doesn't seem to signify as much. Not yet.
